Harry Brown�s Pies is a 100 percent Australian Owned and Operated Company. Our founder Harry Brown was born in York in England in 1905. The recipes we use in our pies today date back some 70 years, which were passed on to Harry by his father, then passed onto David (Harry�s Grandson), who now manages Harry Brown�s. Our products are all hand made, ensuring that every Harry Brown�s Product is not only unique, but individual. This follows in the family tradition that every pie is made by hand to ensure taste, quality and presentation. Harry Brown�s manufacture and sell a range of quality bakery products. Our Man Size Beefsteak Pies weigh in at an incredible 290 grams - a meal in itself. Our retail menu is well complimented by our range of Pie Varieties, Sausage Rolls, Cornish Pasties, Spinach & Feta Triangle, Fruit Pies, Muffins and Foot Long Hot Dogs. All of our Food Products are manufactured in-house at the Harry Brown�s Production Bakery in Chester Hill, NSW and are available fresh daily through our network of distributors. � All of our Meat Pies and Sausage Rolls are manufactured using only the best quality 95% Fat Free Premium Australian Chuck Steak. Our Chicken Pies are manufactured using only free range Chickens, with all of the products we manufacture being certified �Halal� for consumption by the Muslim Community. Harry Brown�s are proudly certified by the Halal Certification Authority of Australia for the products we manufacture. Our Customers are the only reason Harry Brown�s Pies is in business. Our company has set very high standards in production, presentation and taste of our products, which is what makes us the success we are today. The Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) system is a food safety system that is designed to prevent the occurrence of problems that threaten food safety. As a preventive approach it relies on a food business identifying potential hazards and identifying the measures needed for their control. Hazards in a food safety context include: � biological hazards such as bacteria, parasites and viruses and the toxins produced by bacteria � physical hazards such as stones, glass, metal fragments and packaging materials � chemical hazards such as cleaning compounds and insecticides Codex alimentarius based Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) system is a system which identifies, evaluates, and controls hazards which are significant for food safety. The purpose of food safety programs is to ensure that a food business has made decisions on what actions it will take to prevent food safety problems arising in the food handling operations that are specific to its particular business. It also ensures that the business can quickly initiate a set of corrective actions in place should a problem arise. HACCP relies on seven principles, which include identification of critical control points, establishing limits, monitoring and internal auditing. We at Harry Brown�s Pies understand that in the State of New South Wales it is not yet mandatory to undertake and implement the HACCP System to our business, but we strive to ensure that all of our procedures for the Manufacturing, Food Handling, Storage and Distribution of our products all meet the stringent rules and guidelines of the HACCP System. In instilling the HACCP System to our business, it is your quality assurance that every mouthwatering product that Harry Brown�s Pies, Peas and Mash produce comes to you with the understanding that has been Manufactured, Stored and Delivered to you under the strictest safety program in Australia today. The HACCP System also ensures that our Bakery is clean and pest free, plus it has strict guidelines that we have introduced in relation to Food Handling, Food Manufacturing, Food Storage, Food Distribution and both the Personal Hygiene of Employees and of the Workplace. We are audited every six (6) Months by SGS Consumer Testing Services (SGS CTS) as to our compliance with the Program and the checkpoints put in place to ensure that Food Safety is paramount as part of our business model. Major retailers such as Coles, Woolworths, McDonalds, Subway and Spotless all insist on their suppliers being HACCP Certified prior to dealing with them. It is the most important part of our business to be Halal Certified, we have worked hard to ensure each and every one of our products we manufactured is made with Halal Certified ingredients, provided from Halal Certified Suppliers, using no preservatives or MSG and 95 percent fat reduced Chuck Steak in all of our meat products.
